NEW YORK, NY (December 12, 2018) – Hearst Magazines today announced that Matt Sanchez Named Chief Executive Officer of Hearst Autos. The announcement was made by Hearst Magazines President Troy Young, to whom Sanchez will report.
In his new role, Sanchez will oversee all aspects of the Hearst Autos division, including Car and Driver, Road & Track, technology, business development and audience development across all platforms. Hearst Autos encompasses all automotive sales and marketing functions for Hearst Magazines, offering a full-funnel solution for auto manufacturers and dealers to guide shoppers from inspiration to purchase.
Sanchez was most recently chief executive officer and co-founder of Say Media, where he led the company’s corporate strategy including efforts to develop Tempest, a full-service publishing platform that powers hundreds of enterprise brands.

Sanchez co-founded the advertising network VideoEgg in late 2004, which acquired the blogging and advertising network Six Apart in 2010 and became Say Media. Prior to that, he co-founded MediaLiquid, a production company that focused on helping non-profits develop cost-effective public service announcements. Sanchez holds a Bachelor’s degree from Yale University, is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization and serves on the board of the Yale Entrepreneurial Society.
